How to Easily Build an Affordable BBQ in Your Garden

When the weather conditions are perfect, you can enjoy a nice evening as you socialize with your family and friends over some sizzling steak. Seems great, right? Before you despair about not owning a barbeque, how about making one yourself? Here’s how to do it.

1. Design the barbeque

Just like any other home remodeling project, you should start by having a plan in mind, regarding what you want and the required materials. You need to consider the exact materials needed to make the project a success. Next, decide where you want to construct the barbeque.

2. Prepare the base

Thanks to specialty stores, you can get a grill that fits both the design and your budget. Now that you have the final design in hand and the location, you can carry on with the base. Many people use concrete, stones and bricks to make an ideal base, as they withstand both weather and weight. To achieve this, consider digging a few centimeters and pouring in concrete, and then level the base using cement. Afterwards, you may stack the bricks, spacing them about one centimeter apart.

3. Start building

Now that your base is all done? Now you can start cementing the stacked bricks. After mixing the cement with sand and water, start layering it into the stacked bricks. Make sure you level carefully, such that the end result is smooth.

4. Build space for the grill

Make sure you don’t pick the most complicated design. However, regardless of the chosen style, the grill definitely plays a crucial role in your barbeque. After lifting the base, secure the grilling areas on the side using staggered brick base supported with cement. Put two pairs of brackets at either side for a movable grate. This is particularly useful for meats and other food that require various degrees of heat.

5. Final touches

You definitely want your newly constructed structure to look like a magnum opus. Pass a damp sponge through the construction to get rid of debris, splashes and stains. You want to remove all these before the concrete hardens.
